The boys were out playing marbles this afternoon. It seems to be a popular game for youngsters to play here - at least in the dry season. I'd like to get a shot of the money they play for too - next time...

the water festival.
So the government have announced that the water festival this year will be cancelled, so that much needed money can be spent on addressing the floods. I'm not sure if this will include Siem Reap, but I hope it doesn't, providing that the river has calmed down by then! Here's a shot from last years festival.

Road Sixty Siem Reap.
I have a soft spot for this rusty ferris wheel and the surrounding wasteland to the east of Siem Reap. It seems that I'm not the only one who enjoys spending time at this bizarre place, as most nights it is packed with reapers who have come out on their motorcycle. Above you can see the view from atop of the wheel, and from the ground.

This was taken on the small iron bridge crossing Siem Reap River, quite close to Old Market. This old woman was taking advantage of the high river level to wash her meat, prior to cooking. Dressed in such traditional attire, I like the fact that I can see a new Toyota Camry in the background!
